Remedial teaching for children with specific learning disabilities (SLD) from below poverty line (BPL) families named “ Bala Saraswathi” was initiated on 13.07.2022 the project will be implemented in 02 government schools of Pollachi by OutReach Educational and Charitable Trust, free of cost.
NEP 2020 is in line with the RPwD act 2016. The Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act 2016 defines inclusive education as a “system of education wherein students with and without disabilities learn together and the system of teaching and learning is suitably adapted to meet the learning needs of different types of students with disabilities “(RPwD Act, 2016). The RPwD act also affirmed the provision of free education for the child with disability upto the age of 18 years in an adequate condition. Inclusive education is no longer a privilege, it is the need of the hour.
Individual differences in brain. The way brain is connected affects senses, perceive information, read, write, listen, speak and perform certain skills. This is known as Specific Learning Disability. Commonly known as Dyslexia. Survey says 1 in 6 Students have Learning problems in Indian schools.
Targeted at around 50- 60 government school children of age group 6 to 13 years. Direct-Indirect beneficiary ratio of 1:5, 60 children (direct beneficiaries). 300 parents and family members (indirect beneficiaries).
