Remedial education for government school students with specific learning disabilities will be screened, assessed, counselled and remediation support will be provided.
Students who are at risk with delayed developmental milestones show deficits in learning as early as 05 years of age. Government school students are deprived of remedial education and if these students are given intervention at an early stage they can show improvement in academic skills like reading, writing and arithmetic which helps them in attaining minimum levels of learning.
75 students with specific learning disabilities studying in selected 03 government schools. Beneficiaries: Students, Teachers and Parents.
To assess and provide therapy and special education to government school students and vocational training to young adults with special needs, who are deprived of interventions either due to lack of facilities and trainers at government schools or unaffordable parents as the therapy, special education and vocational training for these students are very high in private special education centres.
The main aim of setting up a free therapy, special education and vocational training unit is to ensure the team of specialized resources(includes special educators, therapists, counsellors, social workers) reach out to less privileged students on a periodical basis from government schools who are potentially ‘at-risk’ developmental delays (primarily in the age group 3-10 years) and ( age group 18 – 30 years) to assess & extend appropriate support to assist them in maximizing their physical, cognitive, social and emotional development to improve their functional skills.
Students, Teachers and Parents
